Lumberjacks

There has been a major shift in the amount and content of forest work in the past couple of decades, and manual labour now accounts for only a small part of it. The work mainly consists of attending to young stands, planting, planning and other support functions. Some of the first thinnings as well as harvesting work in small, challenging sites are still carried out as manual labour using chain saws.
