Me – a forest worker?
The forest offers a wide range of work. Take a peek – would you be cut out for the forestry sector?
When you think of forestry work, the first things to come to mind are probably lumberjacks, or perhaps nowadays harvester operators. However, a considerable proportion of forest-related work no longer takes place in the forest. Even forest management plans are mostly drawn up using computers, in an office. New ways of using the forest are also giving rise to new professions, both in terms of developing new products and in, say, the study of ecotourism or nature tourism. Indeed, there are many fields and educational levels that can lead to work in the forestry sector.
