Joinery and carpentry
The joinery industry covers furniture, joinery and specialised carpentry. Products include kitchen fixtures, furniture, doors, windows, parquet, toys, wooden boats, musical instruments and coffins. The joinery industry includes both industrial serial production and manual small-scale industry. The sector employs some 20,000 people and includes roughly 2,000 full-time entrepreneurs. Most of the companies are small, employing only a few people, but there are also a few medium-sized companies employing hundreds of people. Furniture and windows can either be made with high efficiency in mass production or as a skilled handicraft, tailored to customer’s wishes or according to the site. We need both of them.
